Born and raised in Anaheim, California, Sam has been performing in the theater since the age of five. He is a graduate of the Professional Actor's Conservatory and later completed a double degree in broadcast journalism and theater from UC Irvine. After pursuing a reporter's career for a decade, his attentions returned to the stage and has since performed all over the world.
His Broadway debut was in the Tony-nominated revival of PETER PAN, starring Cathy Rigby. The production was later filmed for the A & E network and earned an Emmy Award.

His television credits include Lt. Ch'targh on "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine," "Numb3rs," "Hannah Montana," "Lovespring International," "Phil of the Future," "Days Of Our Lives," "General Hospital," and the pilot for SoapNet's "The Nightshift."
His film credits include "The Dukes of Hazzard 2," "Chasing Tchaikovsky," "Peter Pan," "Mystery Monsters," "Never Say Macbeth," and "Little Black Book."
Sam, an avid sports nut, played minor league baseball with the Minnesota Twins organization, competes in tennis and fencing, and is a certified scuba diver.
